At Sea Otter, GU was teasing a new flavor that would support NICA, the national kid’s mountain bike school racing program, and now it’s here. The GU French Toast flavor uses their usual blend of carbs and electrolytes, goes without the caffeine, hints of cinnamon and maple syrup, and will send 10% of proceeds to NICA.

You’ll find different images on the packages, and if you’re interested in seeing how it was developed, check that video above and see the full product story on their website.

Floyd’s of Leadville CBD Isolate

Floyds of Leadville CBD Isolate Soft Gel pills with pure CBD oil

The pairing of a kid-friendly nutrition product with CBD oil products is not lost on us, but timing is what it is, and Floyd’s of Leadville has a new product out now, too. The new Floyd’s of Leadville CBD Isolate Softgels provide a more pure source of hemp’s CBD oil. All of their products use Colorado-grown, organic, non-GMO hemp as the source, but these take it a step further. CBD Isolate means that the CBD does not contain any other cannabinoids found in the hemp plant such as CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and THCV (Tetrahydrocannabivarin). Retail is $55.99 for 30 25mg servings, available now for shipping anywhere in the USA. If you prefer your CBD in liquid form, check out their recovery drink with why protein, a bit of carbs, and CBD isolate…in chocolate or vanilla.

“All of their products use Colorado-grown, organic, non-GMO hemp as the source” Industrial Hemp is not real CBD. Google “the farm bill” as it relates to the sale of Industrial Hemp if you want an interesting read. There is a reason industrial hemp is not FDA approved!!! Having been in the Cannabis industry for quite some time, (and being a cyclist) I can tell you that all Hemp-Derived CBD product is smoke and mirrors. If you want CBD, great. But it needs to come from the Cannabis plant. Not from Industrial Hemp. It’s like trying to get high off of poppy seeds. 99.9999% of anything you’d get from industrial hemp is a placebo. It’s not even defendable. The biggest joke is the “CBD ISOLATE”. If you do any extensive research on CBD you will find that it is NOT EFFECTIVE without a very very small amount of peripheral cannabinoids, including THC! In other words if you “Isolate” the CBD, you are in fact taking away any possibility of a therapeutic benefit. Just saying….
