When it comes to worthy causes for the trails, it seems like Santa Cruz is always ready to step up and help. And this time they’ve brought friends. Along with Santa Cruz, four other California based companies have donated parts to create two very special, fire fighting themed Hightower LTs to aid in trail restoration projects for areas that were impacted by the recent fires in Santa Rosa and Santa Barbara California.

Starting with two new Hightower LT CC carbon frames from Santa Cruz with 150mm of travel, the two frames get separate paint jobs in Red Fire Engine and White  Helicopter. This is of course a nod to the tools of the trade for the firefighters who put it all on the line to keep the fires from spiraling out of control.

The complete package includes parts from Fox, White Industries, Shimano, and Wilderness Trail Bikes to make it a California family affair. From Petaluma based White Industries, you’ll find MR30 cranks and BSA 30 BB, a TSR+ chainring, headset, and CLD+ Boost hubs. Down the road in Scotts Valley, Fox whipped up custom 36 Float Factory forks, Float Factory DPX Kashima Shocks, and a Transfer 150mm dropper post. A bit farther south, Shimano USA in Irvine provided the XTR brakes, shifters, derailleur, chain, cassette, and rotors. Last but not least, WTB is out of Mill Valley and set the bikes up with Trail Boss 29 x 2.4″ tires and Volt Ti saddles. Santa Cruz also provided the carbon bars, grips, and Reserve carbon rims.

The winner of each bike will be able to order a frame in their desired size, making them even more desirable. With raffle tickets starting at $5 for one entry, all proceeds will benefit trail projects by the Redwood Empire Mountain Bike Alliance and the Santa Barbara Mountain Bike Trail Volunteers. This includes repair of the front range trails in Santa Barbara, restoring Knapp’s Castle which was bulldozed to build a fire break, restoring trails in Trione-Annadel State Park and Skyline Wilderness Park, and more.

The two winners will be chosen on March 1st, 2018.

Wow, those cranks. Makes me want it to have polished hubs/spokes too. Will enter. Thanks BR for promoting!

I need another bike like a hole in my head, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want one, and these look pretty damn nice. I’ll happily buy a few tickets.
