A newly expanded Hiplok 100 Series extends proven tamper-resistant theft protection for bikes, ebikes & motorcycles combining their top-tier U-lock construction with a new ultra-secure anchor into floor or wall. Calling them the “future of motorcycle & bike security“, these world’s first anti-angle grinder anchors adopt graphene composite tech of the separate D1000 bike lock to make it difficult for thieves to escape with your 2-wheeled pride & joy…

Hiplok anti-grinder 1000 Series Bike Lock & Floor/Wall Anchors

Hiplok launching a full 1000 Series of bike/moto security leverages the success of the angle grinder resistant D1000 U-lock that they debuted 2 years ago.

There are 3 new products in the Hiplok 1000 Series.

  1. The new DX1000 is a longer shackle U-lock (210x112mm inside) designed for bigger ebikes, eMTBs, and motorcycles. Recommended Retail Price £300 / $350 / 350€.
  2. Combine that with a short 100mm long A1000 anchor. And then, secure into a solid wall and can rotate 360° to attach the U-lock. RRP £200 / $250 / 225€
  3. Or pick the longer (430mm overall) AX1000 anchor that adds an extended bar for greater reach, secured to the floor or a wall. RRP £350 / $450 / 400€

And then, all of that gets the Sold Secure Powered Cycle Diamond and ART 4 Star rated. That then makes this about as secure a setup as you’ll find anywhere.

(Eds.: Hiplok thinks it’s more D-shaped than U-shaped. But we still feel like we’ve been calling these U-locks for decades.)

How does it work?

Hiplok’s 1000 Series lock secret is multi-material construction. That is to say, a square 20mm hardened steel core is topped off with a ‘Ferosafe’ material – a graphene-reinforced ceramic composite covering. Designed to burn out a dozen rotary blades and the motor of the grinder spinning them.

“Security is only as strong as the weakest link, which is why we’ve developed a complete anti-angle grinder security system to protect your prized possessions. Building on our proven track record in launching the first anti-angle grinder bike lock, we’re excited to launch 1000 Series, the ultimate modular security solution with graphene composite material technology at its core, for wherever you ride or store your motorcycle or bike.”

that extruded bike rack tube in the photo is easily cut by an angle grinder – don’t even have to attack the lock!

If you’re in a position such that nobody will notice your rowdy angle grinder, you could just sledgehammer the concrete holding the lock down, and deal with the lock later.

It pains me to defend British usage, but a U-shaped lock makes as much sense as a two-legged table. They’re D-locks.
