Germany’s Ergon, a pioneer in ergonomic winged grips, releases, a better version of the popular, iconic OG winged grip, the G1. The new G1 Evo and G1 Evo BioKork are said to have been made more comfortable and more ergonomic.
Ergon claims to have “already solved typical hand complaints of millions of cyclists”, the GP1 Evo and Gp1 Evo BioKork are the “next step” in this success story by offering a more comfortable, ergonomic grip for cyclists.
The GP1 EVO
The winged shape of the new GP1 Evo supposedly “seamlessly adapts to the hand, ensuring a more complete connection between the hand and the grip”. Additionally, the pressure is then distributed across the large surface area, leaving the wrist to be supported in a “gentle and aligned position”.
Production of these grips is done in Germany and is said to allow Ergon to improve its manufacturing capabilities. This in turn, means the GP1 Evo has an improved look, feel, and performance.
A sleek, integrated, and cold-forged aluminum clamp ensures a sleek, ergonomic, and precise grip angle adjustment. The grip is twist-proof and secured to the handlebars with a now-hidden hex bolt.
Along with its distinctive wings, the GP1 Evo creates a large contact surface that is adapted to the ergonomics of the hand. Thus, relieving the ulnar nerve and increasing comfort. The wing shape supports the wrist without bending, helping to prevent numbness and pain.
There are two rubber firmness areas that provide the best damping comfort, resulting in confort for the the gloveless riders out there, that are in direct contact with the grip for many hours a day.
Made in Germany and SGS-Certified
Ergon says that the new GP1 Evo “raises the bar with detailed improvements to ergonomics, tactile zones, clamping, and material finishing”.
The GP1 Evo is SGS-certified, pollutant-free, and uses medical-grade, LongLife rubber compounds. Ergon says that this new grip “complies with the very highest quality requirements, meets German toy and food standards.
