Introduced early in 2012 as a modification to the 26″ model, the Intense Carbine 275 now gets some important frame updates for 2014.
The primary changes are the addition of ISCG05 tabs, a switch to direct mount front derailleurs (so it’ll now work with the wide range of SRAM options) and internal routing for stealth dropper seatposts. On top of that, they’ve put together three new color schemes and three new build packages.
If you recall, they created the Carbine 275 by offering new G1 dropouts that adjusted the rear axle position to accommodate the larger wheels and tires but maintain the same geometry and axle standard flexibility. So, technically, you can get a 26″ Carbine with the same updates, but you’d have to request it…26″ models are no longer a catalog item for them.
What are catalog items are three all new build kits, including one that gets a complete bike all the way down to $3,999! The new frames will be landing in their warehouse in a couple weeks, which is when their website should be updated with the new goodies. We should have the images and build specs before then, check back soon for an update.
