SEA OTTER CLASSIC 2010 – Intense had their brand spankin’ new Tracer 29er on display for all to ogle. In person, the frame looks a bit small against the larger wheels, but it’s every bit as gorgeous in real life as the glamour photos they leaked earlier this year.
We covered the full frame specs in this post, but here are real world photos and complete bike weights, right after the break…
Built up with a Shimano XT/XTR drivetrain, Marzocchi Bomber fork, Titec stem, Crank Brothers Joplin seatpost and some heavy duty Stan’s wheels with Panaracer rubber the bike weighs in at 32lbs 12oz (size Medium, with pedals). Not the lightest bike on the market by any stretch, but keep in mind it’s a 5″ to 6″ travel rig designed to tackle all trails with its 1.5″ straight headtube and VPP suspension design. (Full specs, sizes and frame details are laid out here)
Notice the two shock mount points on the machined rocker arm; they’ll allow for adjustable length travel on the rear end. Front derailleur uses a direct mount, and the frame has ISCG tabs for HammerSchmidt.
Intense’s G2 dropouts will have options for virtually any axle option you want to run as well as allow for small adjustments in chainstay length.
