2009 Blue Triad Triathlon Time Trial Carbon Fiber bike bicycle interbike 2008

The Blue Triad is their full carbon, top of the line Triathlon / Time Trial bike.  The key features are the PowerArc chainstays, which bend up sharply about 60% of the way back to create an “air shadow” for the cassette and rear derailleur.  The other big feature is the Halo seatpost.  It has three holes for the seat clamp, giving the frame a range from 76° to 80° for seat angle.  Olympian Sarah Haskins used this bike (with drop bars), just to drop a name.  Frameset weight is 1850g, fork is 432g, and together retail for $2,500.  Price includes the Tektro rear brake, which is tucked under the crankset to keep it out of the smoother air up top.  Built as shown, it’d be about $7,800.

Check the rest of their new bikes, like the Ryno full suspension mountain bike and a kids race-level road bike, when you read “more”…

This angle sort of shows how the chainstays kick up at the end, but not as well as I’d hoped.  The frame and fork use Aerus high modulus carbon wrapped around the internal cable routing and a Cane Creek S2 1″ integrated headset.

The T17 is the next model down and replaces the T16 from 2008.  It’s an aluminum frame with carbon stays and fork.  Frame weight is 1615g.

The welds on the Aluminum are sanded smooth for a sleek, almost carbon look.

Their new full suspension mountain bike, the Ryno, is a 5lb carbon fiber bike with 4″ of travel.  It uses an aluminum rocker arm and MSRP’s for $1,500 (frame) or about $3,650 built.

The main triangle has indents in high stress areas to keep the frame stiff, notably the headtube/downtube juncture, the shock mount and the seattube juncture.

The CXC is their top ‘cross bike.  It uses carbon tubes and stays with an 7005 aluminum lugs and bottom bracket section.  Frame weight is 1422g with an Aerus 455g cyclocross fork.  It has 130mm rear hub spacing and uses a standard 1-1/8″ press in headset (not included).  MSRP for frame/fork is $1,250.

And for the kids, there’s Blue’s 2Four race bike.  It has 24″ wheels built on American Classic hubs (superlight!), a carbon fork and 10 speeds.  Seriously.  Now you can just look at the other parents in disdain as they yell at their kids to go faster…your kid will already be at the finish line sucking down some Capri Sun Sport.

Hello, Thanks for the post! Just a couple of mistakes and an addition for your readers but no big deal.

1. The T17 is a full aluminum frame. No carbon stays. Carbon fork and seat post.
2. The Cxc cross bike now uses a 1 1/8″ integrated headset and it is included.
3. When a customer buys a complete Triad bike we give them a free hour in the A2 windtunnel for dialing in the position!

If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,
