While Jack Frost is likely nipping at your toes presently, Keen’s been thinking ahead. Their new Arroyo Pedal combines a breathable hiking sandal upper with an SPD compatible outsole.

The upper is made from a washable, waterproof Nubuk leather that uses a Secure Fit lace capture system and a hydrophobic nylon lining. The metatomical EVA footbed is removable and there’s a 3/4 length SPD compatible plate to provide a bit of a platform for pedaling without being too stiff to walk casually. From the looks of it, they’re probably very similar to the fully closed Springwater Pedal shoe we reviewed last year.

Mens (top) and womens sizes are available, and they’ll retail for $110. More pics, plus updated colors for their Commuter II sandal after the jump…

A TPU cleat cap is included in case you don’t run SPD pedals, and the outsoles are non-marking rubber. Women’s sizes from 5-11, Men’s from 7-15 with half sizes up to 12. Now the only question is, do you wear socks with them?

These are the 2011 colorways for the Commuter pedal. MSRP $115, which is a little crazy considering the Arroyo’s are leather and $5 cheaper, but whatever.

That is not a sandal.
It’s a shoe with holes.
