2013 Cinelli Laser Viva full custom carbon fiber road bike made in Italy

Shown last year as a very special $11,000 track bike, the Laser gets a second option. The new full custom carbon Laser Viva road bike. Details are still a bit fuzzy, but orders are being taken now and production starts in a few months. Then, there’ll be a three to four moth lead time before delivery.

Custom angles and tube lengths based on you getting a fit done and providing the measurements to them. It’ll be available in any of the eight current colors for the Super Corsa. This Laser Blue should be one of them. You’ll also be able to choose electronic or mechanical frame details.

Probably just under $5,000 for a frameset. It’ll be made in Italy.

2013 Cinelli Mash CXSS singlespeed cyclocross bike

The Mash CXSS is an all new platform with a tapered headtube and oversized Columbus tubing. Rear end has horizontal dropouts and 120mm spacing, which makes it a bit unique by using standard track spacing. $1,099 for the frameset, which includes chain tensioner and headset.

2013 Cinelli Vigorelli gets a new pink and gray paint scheme for the US market

The Vigorelli gets a new matte pink/graphite color scheme called the Vigorosa, and it’s for the US only. $799 frameset.

2013 Cinelli eco-leather pedal toe straps

New Eco-leather toe straps with anodized aluminum hardware that keeps it from rubbing the crankarms.

2013 Cinelli Very Best Of carbon fiber road bike gets updated

The Very Best Of carbon road bike gets a new mold that’s aimed at the Gran Fondo racer. It’s not the stiffest or lightest, but is supposedly very comfortable.

Changes are a thinner seatpost (27.2) and seatstays and a reduction to 1-1/4″ tapered fork. It has internal routing and is designed to work with Campy EPS, too. Frameset is $3,999.

Other bikes not shown here get updated, too:

  • The Strato gets updated with PFBB30 and is drilled for wires, too.
  • The Saetta gets bolt-on cable stops that cover wire ports.
  • The Zydeco gets a tapered headtube and is now available as complete bike in addition to the frameset.

120 spacing on a cx bike? Where is the disconnect here?

No disconnect. Look closer and you’ll see it’s a single speed CX bike. 120 is track spacing and a good choice for a single speed bike, much more so than 130. Only other option is 135 MTB single speed hubs but with the shorter chainstays found on a cross bike that wouldn’t work as well. I had a Gunnar single speed CX bike with 120 spacing and it worked great.

I like using my old 130mm road wheels for sscx. It makes sense for me. The wheels work great with a SS cog and spacer kit. For someone with a bunch of spare flip/flop SS wheelsets, 120mm might make more sense.

While its kind of a pain for everyone who has sold all their track stuff and bought cx stuff, I like that Cinelli/Mash aren’t catering to the largest audience possible with 130 spacing.
