The Italian Government is considering a 30% reimbursement as a tax incentive to purchase an electric bicycle.  The hope is to cut emissions and pollution in their urban areas and stimulate the use of alternative forms of transportation.

According to the article, they expect it to help sell a lot of electric bikes, even though the benefit is limited to to the first €700 of purchase price, and they hope it’ll set a precedent for other governments.
