Italy’s premium eyewear brand KOO has added the new ALIBI cycling-specific sunglasses to its collection of casual and sport-specific eyewear. The ALIBI collection offers one frame style with a wide range of color and lens options.
Certain ALIBI lenses are ideal for road riding while others are intended for MTB or gravel riders. KOO does include photochromic lens options for those who like the versatility or performance of auto-tinting sunglasses. If you wear prescription glasses, the ALIBIs can accommodate them with an accessory clip.
KOO ALIBI – Construction Features:
The new ALIBI sunglass features a half-frame design for minimal interruption of vision. The ALIBIs were designed to be comfortable and secure on long rides, and are suitable for male or female riders.
The ALIBI frames are made from durable Grilamid and have a three-point lock system. The arms feature ergonomic temples and were kept on the short side (110mm length) to maximize helmet compatibility.
All of KOO’s sunglasses use cylindrical polycarbonate Zeiss lenses to offer excellent clarity and protection from UV rays, dust, and wind. The ALIBI’s lenses include vent holes at the top to prevent condensation buildup.
KOO says they took their design inspiration for the ALIBI from older models of cycling sunglasses, which tended to be smaller and sleeker than many of today’s larger styles. However, they also claim their panoramic lenses provide a very wide field-of-view. The ALIBI’s lenses measure 142mm wide (which is certainly not small width-wise), but KOO does not list their top-to-bottom measurement.
If you wear prescription eyeglasses the ALIBIs are compatible with KOO’s Optical Clip. KOO offers a few different interchangeable rubber nose pads for their sunglasses (although at this point no options are yet shown for the new ALIBIs).

ALIBI models with photochromic lenses retail for $235, while all non-photochromic models sell for $190. The ALIBI sunglasses are now available online.
