Lego, the ultimate toy in this guy’s opinion, is releasing a bike shop as part of their City Collection.  The kit itself is called City Corner, and includes a bus and bus stop (public transportation…yay!), a Pizzeria and a Bicycle Shop, complete with mechanic, sign and…wait for it…security camera!  (Maybe Bart at Southpark Cycles had some input on the design)

Hit more to see other photos of/from the kit.  It’s expected to start shipping on August 6th for $59.99 USD from the Lego Store online.

I guess I know what my son is getting for Christmas this year…

What, no spandex-clad lego people?  Here’s hoping for the Tour de France kit with team cars and bikes!  OMG, that would be awesome!

That punk skateboarder’s totally going to steal that pizza.  The Lego City Corner bike shop kit comes with all these goodies, put together with only 483 pieces.  I say ‘only’ because the Millenium Falcon kit has 5,195 pieces ($499.99).

This article kicked off a round of research for me that took me to Peeron.com and a list of all LEGO kits that have had bicycles in them. One of them, from 1987, is set 6699-1: Cycle Fix-It Shop.

Times were simpler then, apparently. No need for a security camera.

Lego actually made a set for Team Telekom with racing cyclists, a car and a podium for the winners.
You can see it over at Copenhagenize.com together with a host of other bicycle related Lego sets.

Cool bike shop, above.
