Bicycling Magazine has listed the top 50 bicycle friendly cities in the U.S. with populations over 100,000. Keen observers may notice that California is probably under-represented, and Bicycling says they wanted to show better geographic diversity “to avoid having a list dominated by CA’s many bike-oriented cities.”
We’re thrilled to death that Greensboro made the list! Good job B.I.G.! Check out the map on Bicycling’s website and click on each city to see why they were picked. It’s a pretty limited description…afterall, there’s no mention of Greensboro’s recent growth in bike lanes or the downtown greenway that’s under construction, so it’s likely there are more reasons than meet the eye for the other cities, too.
