Lizard Skins’ lock-on grip lineup has a lot of options, but the new Gradient is their first-ever ergonomic option. With a slight taper creating a backward flare on the outside edge, they give you that slim control near the levers with a little extra cushioning under your palms.

The diameter at the inside edge, near your brake levers, is 30.5mm, about average for performance MTB grips. But the outer edge bumps to 36.5mm, with a mostly consistent slope getting you there rather than an abrupt “wing”.

They’re right- and left-specific, with both shaping and grip texture patterns optimized for top and bottom placement.

Lizard Skins isn’t the first to create a tapered or ergo grip, but at just 115g (claimed) per pair, they’re among the lightest options out there. About the only potential downside is the closed end, which limits the addition of bar-end tools like tire plug kits, etc.
