It caps out at 20mph like every other trail-legal eMTB, but with a massive 852W of peak power and plenty of torque, the new McLaren Extreme 600 will get you there quickly.
Known for their very expensive (and very fast) supercars, McLaren’s new line of e-bikes includes a hardtail and this full-suspension e-mountain bike, the Extreme 600. It’s the flagship, and has 145mm rear travel with 160mm forks, 29er front wheel, and 27.5″ rear wheel.
The bikes, like much of their cars, is made with carbon fiber. We’ve inquired as to the motor and battery specs and will update when we get them.
Just like McLaren’s cars, you’ve got selectable power modes, all displayed on the handlebar’s integrated cockpit:
- Off – No motor assist
- Eco – Energy conservation for long rider
- Trail – A set-it-and-forget-it balance of power and efficiency
- Sport – Extra power output for when the trail demands more
- Race – Max power and max torque
The Extreme models get SRAM XX Eagle AXS, and Sport models get SRAM mechanical GX Eagle. Note the internal cable ports on the front of the cockpit…the bike shown has UK/moto-style brake routing, but there’s a port on either for internal routing for all brake setups.
All versions are shod with Pirelli tires. Pricing and more info on Sport and hardtail models TBA, but you can check out the collection at link below.
