Are you ready to party your Hasselhoff? No, not with the guy that holds the World Record for the “most-watched man on TV”. Nope, instead, It’ll be with the tool and sealant company, milKit’s new hassle-free multitool the Hassle’Off.

Not unlike “The Hoff”, this new multi-tool could save you. Save you from being stuck with a technical issue while out riding. The tool boasts that even with its 20 functions, including a chain breaker, it’s lighter than your smartphone at 135g.

The tool looks pretty compact and can fit inside a pocket easily enough, but can also attach directly to the frame via water bottle bosses.

The Hassle’Off uses what they are calling the Essential8 at the core of the tool. It is a magnet bit-in-bit that contains all of the common sizes to do most tightening and loosening on your steed, (hex, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.5, 2, and Torx25). The Essetial8 is constructed of stainless steel and is capable of high leverage, making the tool “workshop-quality that meets the highest quality standards”.

The Hassle’Off sports an integrated tubeless plug solution for those times when sealant just isn’t going to cut it alone. The easily accessible Plug Tool has a side-loading shape that is supposed to make it easy to load. It has a twist shape that will “ensure the ideal positioning of the plug when it’s pushed into the tire.”

The integrated, Swiss Army knife-style tool makes it easy to cut off the excess plug material, with storage for extra replacement plugs on the inside of the tool.

But, the modularity of the tool with the integrated attachments for other equipment is really what makes this tool different. It allows for the tool to be customized to each rider’s personal needs. You can use the included Velcro strap to attach a tube, pump, or CO2 cartridge.

milKit created what they are calling a “holistic ecosystem” by providing a full range of tools that can be directly attached to the sliding interfaces of the Hassle’Off multitool.

To save space the chain breaker blends seamlessly with the tire lever and is magnetically compatible with the Essential8. The chain breaker itself is a spoke wrench and valve core tool, again saving space within the tool.

The Hassle’Off is made of glass-fiber reinforced “high-performance” material as well as the aforementioned stainless steel.

I’m pretty sure it IS the Daysaver, their new one, as they stopped having it made by PB Swiss. Check their site.

Lots of bits to lose. Think the designers have never had to fix their own bikes on the trail.

That’s been exactly my experience. I’ve had the Daysaver since it first came out of their kickstarter and while it’s a great idea and is premium quality, it just isn’t that great in practice. There’s a real risk of loosing bits and also using the tool feels fiddly. Pity!
