Fi’zi:k has released their new Ares saddle.  It’s short, only 24cm from nose to tail, which is the UCI minimum limit, and it has extra padding at the nose to keep you comfortable when you’re tucked down in the aero position.  It has a “k:ium” rail, which is Fizik’s answer to high priced titanium.  It’s a mixture silica and chrome.  Chrome gives it its luster, and the silica gives it some compliance, much like you’d get from Ti rails.
Weight is 165g and MSRP is $199.  It’ll be available later this month.
It’s used by all Fizik sponsored teams during TT stages, including Liquigas, Columbia-Highroad, Cervelo, Milram, Garmin-Slipstream, FDJeux, Cofidis and Barloworld.
