Designed with input from pro DH racer Troy Brosnan, the all-new Maxxis Dissector rolls features from three of their most popular tires into one aggressively quick tread. Designed for everything from DH to park to big trail riding, the Dissector can be run front and rear depending on the case…and casing. For DH and park, they recommend running it as a rear tire with something knobbier on the front. For trail riding, it’ll work on either end of the bike, but in any case it’s optimized for fast, dry conditions.
The Dissector will come in two versions: The Trail version gets an EXO casing with 3C MaxxTerra rubber compound, single-ply 60tpi casing and weights of 800g (27.5×2.4) and 861g (29×2.4).
The DH version gets their DH casing with 3C MaxxGrip rubber, two-ply 60tpi casing and additional butyl inserts to prevent pinch flats and rim damage. Weights are 1133g (27.5×2.4) and 1206g (29×2.4). All are intended to go on rims with a 30-35mm internal width.
They’ll be priced the same as their other mountain bike tires, $75 for EXO and $90 for DH. Available August 2019.
