Following their S-Works Vent road shoes and Prevail Vent II helmet, the new offroad-ready Vent EVO Gravel racing shoes take it to the dirt.
Built on the same lightweight, stiff, and breezy design philosophy, the Vent EVO Gravel shoes are made for hammering out long, fast miles in comfort. Here’s how they do it…
Designed to offer the same stiffness and performance as their S-Works Recon XC mountain bike shoe, the new Vent EVO Gravel adds more ventilation and mesh panels. The idea is to keep the feet cool and dry (assuming conditions are dry, of course), which helps you perform better.
They accomplished this by making just about every part of the shoe’s upper that could be flexible, breathable. A combination of Dyneema and mesh/TPU panels built around a new last shape claim to offer great fit for a wide range of foot shapes while holding those feet securely and comfortably.
The sole gets their Body Geometry treatment, with longitudinal arch support and a +1.5mm forefoot Varus Wedge to prevent sloppy pronation as your feet, ankles, and legs get tired over time. Their Metatarsal Button helps splay the foot a bit, too, to prevent cramping.
They get the same custom machinged alloy dials controlling the BOA S3-Snap Fit closures, plus a smal Velcro forefoot closure. A plastic heel cup stabilizes the rear of the foot, with a matching front bumper to protect both ends of the shoes from scuffs.
Molded tread supports and rubber blocks provide plenty of traction off the bike, with removeable spikes included.
The S-Works Vent EVO Gravel comes in Black and Red/Black and will retail for $450 (€430 / $600AUD), and come in all the usual sizes. We have a set in for testing, stay tuned for a full review.
