WTB claims that when it comes to saddles, their goal is to create the most state-of-the-art on the market. To get there, they have been dialing comfort saddle-by-saddle with their Fusion Form concept. This allows them to tune the thickness and stiffness of the saddle base to the individual needs of the saddle rather than just relying on padding alone.

The latest WTB saddles to get the Fusion Form treatment are the brand new Solano, Solano SL, and Rocket models. Each unique in its padding and stiffness, WTB is getting closer to offering a saddle for nearly everyone.

WTB Solano

Starting with the Solano, this saddle is a high-performance saddle designed for riders on medium to long rides.

WTB states that the Solano Saddle is best suited to riders who push hard on the pedals while maintaining a consistent seated position. Too much padding can often leave these riders feeling unsupported on longer rides, so the firm Fusion Form base and padding found on both the Solano and Solano SL combine to deliver isolated support for the sit bones while reducing perineal and frontal pressure.

Compared to the thinner Solano SL, the Solano features 4 mm of additional padding under the sit bones and 2 mm thicker padding in the middle and nose. The short length, low-profile padding, and rounded tail allow riders to move freely when out of the saddle. Offered in medium or wide widths.

I’m not affiliated with WTB but isn’t around $100 about average for most decent saddles out there?
