Earlier, we showed you what we thought was an extremely limited edition Five Pro Blackout from the folks at Orange Mountain bikes. With only 20 made, and all of them now sold out, it definitely fit the bill for limited edition. Now, Orange seem to have upped the ante on what is considered exclusive, with their newest Blackout offering, the ST4 Pro Blackout, of which only 10 will be made!

The ST4 fits the Blackout mold a little better as well, this time with a black Fox Fox 32 TALAS FIT RLC QR15 110-140mm fork (any more numbers or letters we could fit in there?). Taking its place as Orange’s ultimate XC/Trail weapon, the 110mm travel ST4 offers some middle ground between the Five Pro and a hard tail. Designed for the majority of riders who climb, descend, and ride from point A to point B, the ST4 is a no nonsense trail machine.

But, for it to be a true limited edition it has to have some special features, right? Check them out after the break!

Just like the Orange Five Pro Blackout, the ST4 Blackout features color matched parts from Hope Tech and Orange’s in house parts. Everything is black with the exception of the green bits.

The color matching continues through the ST4’s hardware with color matched pivot hardware and shock link. I wonder if you could get replacement green hardware in the future?

And of course, the Hope color match treatment extends to the Tech X2 bore cap on the brakes. There is even a small green hardware bit on the inside of the rear stays!

What’s a limited edition bike without a limited edition head badge? The Orange makes it known with “Limited Edition” under the standard Orange badge. If you notice, the paint has sparkly metal flake throughout which goes with the Disco Black name for the paint. Shiny.

Given the fact that at just over $5000 US, the ST4 Pro Blackout is going to be quite a bit more expensive than the standard ST4, just what all does that money get you?

Blackout spec features:

  • Special Edition Hope Tech X2
  • Fox 32 TALAS FIT RLC 110-140mm Fork
  • Hope headset
  • Hope Rear QR
  • Hope Seatclamp
  • Disco Black paint finish
  • Color matched powder coated links and caps finish off the Blackout package: looking fancy…
  • ST4 Pro Blackout RRP: £3100

One thing’s for sure, if you happen to buy one, you will only ever see 9 like it throughout the world! Want one? Better hurry.
