It was only a matter of time, we suppose. Rapha has just introduced their denim with a first pair of jeans built for cycling.
For now, they’re available in limited supply with a full shipment coming available in May. If you want to be first, be quick. They’re made with a little stretch and designed to dry quickly with a blend of nylon, cotton and elastane, they’re cut for cycling. Note the smart logo placement inside the driveside leg…and it’s reflective! More specs and pricing behind the jump.
Joining the good times lovin’ Country Jersey they debuted a few weeks ago, the Pro Jersey is all business. Check it out, and find one of the upcoming Gentlemen’s Rides and Rapha related NAHBS goings on after the break…
They’re a straight leg fit with regular and long (34″) inseam lengths available, waists in even numbers from 28 to 38. Perhaps not surprisingly, all of the smaller regular sizes are already sold out as of this posting. It wouldn’t be Rapha if there weren’t some smart details, so here we go:
- Reinforced right rear pocket to hold a compact D-Lock
- Deep front pockets to keep things inside when pedaling
- Contrast white stitching in the belt loops and pink detail stitching on the pockets
- Black leather label
- Includes a denim patch for repairs
- Satin-taped zip fly with top button
- Gripper elastic inside waist band to keep them in place (thankfully)
- Low cut front, higher backed waist
- Offset inseams to prevent chafing while pedaling
Price is £150.
The Rapha Pro jersey was developed with the Rapha Sharp Condor pro team and is cut for an aggressive riding posture. The lightweight, fast-wicking material uses ColdBlack technology to reflect the sun’s heat so you stay cooler. Mesh collar, panels and cuff ends also help it breathe better. Seams are bonded for durability and it has three rear pockets with radio eyelets and loops to keep earpiece cables in place and hidden. Details include name tags for team laundry separation and a low cut collar and high stretch cuffs for comfort. £120.
Headed to the North American Handmade Bicycle Show? Join Rapha for a couple of great events:
If you can’t make the late night, join them early the next morning for the Gentlemen’s Ride (open to the fairer sex, too) leaving from the Mellow Johnny’s. Meet up at 6:30, they usually have some coffee and snacks, then roll out for a casual ride through Austin, TX, before walking the NAHBS show for the day. More info on both events here. We’ll see you there!
