Much like they did to support the Qhubeka Foundation, Hunt has created an ultra-limited edition set of wheels for Team COOP-Hitec to race at the Tour de France Femmes, which will then go up for sale after the Tour to raise money for charity. You can support women’s cycling not just by watching the COOP-Hitec race in their first Tour de France, but after the race you can buy a set of the actual Team Edition Hunt 44 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheels they raced to help fund the next generation of women racing…
Limited Team Edition Hunt x Team COOP-Hitec 44 Aerodynamicist carbon wheels
Just 20 sets of the Team Edition Hunt 44 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheelsets have been made, with subtle graphics commemorating each start & finish locale of the race’s 8 stages around France – with typography in place of Hunt’s usual spoke lines graphics.
All of those wheels will be raced around France in the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift.
Half will be given to the riders as a souvenir of the second running of the TdFF, and the Stavanger, Norway-based UCI Continental COOP-Hitec women’s team’s first TdFF invite. Then, the other half – 10 wheelsets – will be signed by the team and sold to the public at the end of the race, with 100% of all proceeds being donated to Team COOP-Hitec Products to “fund racing opportunities for riders and the development of top cycling talent.”
Tech details
Team COOP-Hitec’s ultra-limited Team Edition Hunt 44 Aerodynamicist Carbon Disc wheels are the same 29mm wide external, 20mm internal x 44mm deep carbon wheels that we reviewed last summer. They’re excellent road tubeless all-rounders at a claimed weight of 1466g with conventional bladed steel spokes, Hunt’s fast alloy Sprint SL hubs, and competitive drag numbers in the wind tunnel.
Team Edition Hunt x Team COOP-Hitec wheels – Pricing & Availability
Just 10 raced wheelsets were set to go on sale to the public direct from Hunt starting on the first day of the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, this coming Sunday on July 23rd. But it looks like they may already be on the site now! You will have to wait until after the Tour for them to ride the wheels first. Official pricing is just a bit more than the standard 44 Aerodynamicist wheels, so these won’t actually break the bank – you just have to act fast. The Tour de France Femmes-raced wheelsets are currently offered for just $1317 / £1062 / 1317€ while they last!
