Today, Pivot is launching its latest version of the Shuttle AM. It very closely resembles its highly regarded predecessor in terms of geometry and travel and continues to aim for the sweet spot for all-mountain and trail riders. Although it may look nearly identical to the 2024 version we reported on and tested in 2023, Pivot has made numerous incremental updates with the goal of refining its performance and improving on its predecessor.
The Shuttle AM still slots squarely into the all-mountain, do-it-all position in Pivot’s lineup behind the longer travel Shuttle LT. It was joined earlier this year by a new lighter-weight twin sibling, the Shuttle SL/AM, with the brand’s range of eMTBs rounded out by the shorter travel Shuttle SL.
Quick Hits: What’s New?

- 800 Wh battery is reportedly 0.9 pounds lighter than previous 750 Wh battery
- New charging port design and cover
- Updated cable ports
- Fox Live Valve Neo shock upgrade available on Team build
Pivot Shuttle AM Details
The latest Shuttle AM shares the same silhouette and nearly identical geometry to the 2024 version. With this update, it gains 2 mm of rear wheel travel, bumping up to 150 mm — like the new SL/AM — and is paired with a 160 mm travel fork. Rear suspension is still controlled by the familiar DW-link suspension design that is used across the majority of Pivot’s full-suspension lineup. According to Pivot, “DW-link is the perfect suspension platform for Pivot’s eMTBs by providing the optimal amount of anti-squat, enabling the Shuttle AM (and all Pivot Shuttle models) to harness the full power of the drive system, with optimal traction and incredible suspension performance.”

The 2025 Shuttle AM still comes with 29-inch wheels front and rear, and can be set up with a 27.5-inch rear wheel after the fact if you choose. Max tire clearance is stated at 29” x 2.5” or 27.5” x 2.6”. Pivot is also sticking with the 157 mm Super Boost spacing for the rear axle. One minor frame update worth mentioning is a new cable port design with the goal of simplifying cable routing. Pivot states that the updated cable ports “increase versatility for custom setups, including moto-style routing.”
The Team and Pro builds have full carbon frames, while the Ride build has a carbon front triangle paired with an alloy rear end.

Geometry
The geometry of the 2024 Shuttle AM was pretty dialed already, so Pivot didn’t really make any changes to its already winning formula. The new Shuttle AM still comes in four frame sizes, claimed to work for riders between 5’3” and 6’7” (160 cm to 200 cm). Pivot says that each frame size has been analyzed and custom-tuned for consistent performance and optimal ride characteristics for all riders. The geometry-adjusting flip chip also carries over so that riders can make minor changes to optimize it for their terrain and riding style. Flipping the chip adjusts the head tube and seat tube angles by 0.4 degrees and raises/lowers the bottom bracket height by 5 mm.
The head tube angle of 64.5 degrees (64.1 degrees in low) is right around the norm for today’s trail riding standards. The 76.9-degree (76.5 degrees low) seat tube angle should be steep enough most of the time. Chainstay lengths are a consistent 444 mm across all frame sizes, and bottom bracket height is listed at 350 mm (345 mm low). Reach numbers grow from 435 mm on a size small to 500 mm on the XL, with a relatively standard 480 mm on a size large frame.

Drive System
The new models come with the latest Bosch Gen 5 Performance Line CX and CX-Race drive systems. These powerful mid-drive motors put out up to 100 Nm of torque and up to 750 W of peak power. The Team and Pro builds come with the slightly lighter, race-tuned CX-Race system, with the exclusive Race mode. Those bikes also come with the Bosch wireless remote and the fancy new Kiox 400C top tube integrated color display. The Ride builds are spec’d with the standard — but still plenty powerful — CX drive unit and more basic Bosch System Controller.
Of course, the Bosch drive system also includes the Bosch Flow app for connectivity, and Pivot has teamed up with them to make the Bosch x Pivot Cycles Flow app. In addition to the standard stuff like customizing ride modes and fine-tuning support levels, the Pivot version of the app also keeps you informed of recommended service intervals and can help you find a Pivot/Bosch dealer.

Bigger Battery
One of the more meaningful updates to the Shuttle AM is a 50 Wh increase in battery capacity, bumping up to 800 Wh. Despite its increased capacity, Pivots says that it is actually 0.9 pounds (408 g) lighter than the previous 750 Wh version. The battery is housed inside the downtube, and like the previous version, it appears that it can’t be removed without also removing the motor. While hot swaps may not be possible, it is compatible with the Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh range extender for longer rides. The PowerMore extender reportedly weighs 3.3 pounds (1.5 kg) and can be purchased with the bike or separately for $550.
Pivot also redesigned the charging port for a sleeker appearance, enhanced durability, and more protection from the elements. The changing port cover is also removable for streamlined compatibility when using the range extender.
