PRESS RELEASE: Finally it’s settled which 25 riders will have the honour to compete at the Red Bull District Ride. Next to Brandon Semenuk (CAN) – the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour Champion of a few days standing – the riding field includes absolute freeride legends as well as the biggest newcomer talents of the year – there has never been such a high-profile riding field! For the complete riders’ list as well as further info about every rider, go to www.redbulldistrictride.com . It’s definitely worth checking out who will rock Nuremberg’s city centre for the best trick competition (Fr. September 9 at 6pm) and the finals (Sat. September 10 from 3pm to 5pm)! For a chance to actively take part in the biggest contest of the year, you’ll need to become an official forerunner of the Red Bull District Ride! Send a link with your best tricks and style until August 20th to redbulldistrictride@rasoulution.com and you could be starting in Nuremberg along with the best riding field in freeride history!

Because of his really impressive season and thus sky-high point score in the overall ranking of the FMB World Tour 2011, it is already official that Brandon Semenuk (CAN) is this year’s FMB World Tour Champion. Obviously, that doesn’t mean that he will just lean back and relax during the finals. Brandon will do all he can to achieve a perfect season; meaning he will try to win each of the five events that count towards his overall point score and in this way make history in the World Tour’s second year. He can only reach this goal by making it to the top of the podium in Nuremberg so you’re not going out on a limb by saying that exciting battles are to be expected. Especially Cameron Zink (USA), current number 2 in the FMB World Tour overall ranking, will make it as hard as he can for Brandon!

Next to absolute freeride legends such as Darren Berrecloth (CAN), Cameron McCaul (USA) or Kyle Strait (USA), Nuremberg will also see a few new talents compete at the most spectacular urban freeride event of the year, some of whom were able to secure a spot in the riding field by winning a wild card. Young Canadian Anthony Messere is definitely worth pointing out in this context. Only 15 years of age, he is bringing home one victory after another – his last achievement was a second place at the Bearclaw Invitational (CAN). We can absolutely expect a great show from him in Nuremberg!

One of the riders who is sure to be at the Red Bull District Ride is Amir Kabbani (GER). He is sharing his wisdom with us in his blog on www.redbulldistrictride.com. It is definitely worth a read, so check in on the pro as he prepares for the long awaited contest and shares some inside info.
