Restrap Adventure Race bikepacking bags
Restrap have been quietly putting their redesigned, UK-made Adventure Race series of bags through its paces over the past two years, race-testing the changes over thousands of miles in all conditions and across all disciplines on & off-road to hone the details to perfection, and create the all-new bags to fill in any gaps in their Carry Everything ethos.
They’ve refined the lightweight X-Pac X21 bags for ultra-endurance racing and audax rides to deliver more efficient loading and enough carrying capacity to haul the essentials without compromising on total pack weight.
With adventure racing ambassadors lending their in-race expertise, Restrap has added new pack compartmentalization for better gear organization, new double-ended 2-way zips for easier access on-the-go, and multiple mesh pockets inside to quickly find smaller but key items like ride nutrition, tools & spares.
All-new Race Bar Bag
The new Adventure Race Bar Bag is a simple minimalist handlebar bikepacking bag that combines Restrap’s signature holster for easy mounting with a light 7L roll-top waterproof bag that fits inside.
Unlike a regular dry bag, this inner element of the Race Bar Bag gets stretch mesh side pockets so you can access small items while riding. The 7L holster handlebar bag weighs 325g & costs £110 / $165 / 132€.
All-new Race Stem Bags
The new Race Stem Bags are a pretty standard affair that had been missing from the Adventure Race series. With the lighter X-Pac fabric and multiple Hypalon mounts, you can velcro these into many layouts within your racy bikepacking cockpit.
Their single-pull bungee closure lets you access & secure them more-handed while riding, and an internal stiffener keeps them in shape, no matter what you are carrying inside – from gummy bears to a water bottle. Outside stretch mesh pockets expand storage for more snacks or wrapper trash, and reflective logos & bungees help make you more visible.
The 1.1L stem bags sell for £45 / $68 / 54€ and weigh 86g, a piece.
Reshaped Race Top Tube Bag – Long
Restrap already had a shorter top tube bag, but now gets this full-length version for £70 / $105 / 84€ . The longer bag extends to secure both at the headtube & seatpost with a 2-way waterproof zip for better gear access. Rubberized straps hold it more securely in place.
Inside of the 243g bag, a lightweight rigid internal plastic structure keeps it stable, new orange lining makes it easier to find things, and internal pockets help organization while a stretch mesh outside pocket stores more snack or wrapper trash.
Reshaped Race Frame Bag – Large
The new large-sized Adventure Race Frame Bag build on the original boxy frame bag, offering just a bit more total storage at 4.2L, but in a longer, shallower format that frees up more in-frame space for water bottles. Inside, a velcro divider helps organization, while outside pockets on either side store gear at your fingertips.
The new X-Pac X21 bag adds a full-length Hypalon flap over the YKK aquaguard zipper to make sure everything inside stays dry no matter what, at just 240g.
The new £90 / $135 / 108€ bag now also secures around the seat tube for extra stability, adds storm-protected wiring routing (for dynamos or power bank device charging on-the-go), plus new reflective detailing.
Not officially announced yet, there appears to be a full-frame bag version also in the works. Coming soon, maybe?
