That’s right. After nearly closing its doors, the founder saving the day, and the return of the brand’s original designer, Revel brings back titanium production, an important part of the brand’s DNA.

According to Revel, these titanium bikes started as a side/passion project to geek out on “modern geometry, clean lines, and the ride feel that only titanium delivers”. Well, the riders fell in love with them, and so did the team at Revel. The bikes are designed to be adventurous and built to last a lifetime.

The Revel Metal Lineup
Revel’s titanium lineup has its roots in the brand’s original sister company, Why Cycles. In early 2023, the decision was made to merge the two brands, giving the Why bikes a new Revel identity.
Each of the new Revel titanium bikes uses modern geometry and a customer-first sales process, with new pricing. There are five models: the R+, El Jefe, Wayward, Big Iron, and Tirade. All of these models are available as frame-only, and some bikes are offered as complete builds with specific kits. The R+ is available as a complete bike with Rover builds, the El Jefe shares kits with the Ranger, and the Tirade uses the same kit as the Rascal SL.
El Jefe

The Revel El Jefe was built with input from Ultra-Endurance legend, Jefe Branham. Jefe told them what his dream bike would look like, and Revel made it happen.

The Jefe can go anywhere, from the backcountry, to the starting line of a cross country race. With a straight top tube, sliding dropouts, room for 29×2.6 tires, and 120mm of front travel, it’s ready for any adventure.
The R+

Rvel says that the R+ is where “heritage and modern tech clash with a future-proofed gravel design. The R+ is equipped with a UDH derailleur hanger, as well as a Revel-designed carbon fork.

The fork can fit tires up to 700×50, or a 27.5 x 2.1″ tire. The R+ is the perfect tool for the gravel racer, gravel rider, or adventurer.
Tirade

Sometimes, less is more. Revel says the Tirade follows that ethos with all the tools you need and none you don’t. Sporting 140mm of travel up front, and the compliant titanium rear end, it’ll shred the ups and the downs.

It’s strong, comfortable and versatile. It can go from a geared hardtail to a shreddy singlespeed at a moments notice. “The Tirade’s simplicity belies a trail-chugging beast”.
The Big Iron

Being the titanium-cored monster truck of the bunch, the Big Iron won’t care if the path ahead is chunky, snowy, sandy or rutted… the nastier and gnarlier the better.

Fat-ass 5″ tires, a carbon fork, a ultra-rugged titanium frame, and a carefully chosen component selection make Big Iron perfect for non-perfect conditions.
Wayward

If getting lost on big multi-day adventures is your thing, than the Wayward is the right tool for the job. Multi-day bikepacking, single-day epics, or just a full day of exploration is where the Wayward is most comfortable.

The Wayward is equipped with 120mm of front travel, 29+ tires, sliding dropouts, the ability to run a quiet, low-maintenance belt drive, and plenty of mounting points. It’s ready to shape-shift for any adventure.
What’s Missing?

Revel’s titanium dirt jumper is still listed on the website, but it’s not making a return. According to Revel, a 27.5″, belt drive, titanium dirt jump bike may have been a little “too out-there.”
How to Get Yours

The bikes are available globally, shipping direct to riders and retailers from Revel’s Colorado HQ and Taiwan warehouse. Pre-orders are open now with a $500 deposit to hold your frame. Bikes should ship to riders in early October. Frames start at $2499, which Revel claims is “nearly the same price as when we launched the line in 2016, thanks to our direct-to-consumer pricing model”.
