Colombia’s handmade bicycle brand, Scarab Cycles, has just announced that it will now offer pre-set sizes with its Ready To Paint Program (RTP). The RTP Program will be offering three models of Scarab’s custom steel frames. However, these frames will be available in set geometries.

The new stock frames will have the same craftsmanship, but with a shorter wait time. Scarab ensures that these production frames will “continue to be produced from tube to finished frameset using the same attention to detail as all of their frames have been”. These frames will still be made in Scarab’s factory in El Retiro, Colombia.

The three models available in stock sizes will be the Santa Rosa road bike, the Darién mountain bike, and the Paramo gravel bike. The Santa Rosa will come in seven sizes, the Darién in four sizes, and the Paramo in six sizes. RTP framesets will only be available in seasonal paints for a limited time and refreshed regularly. Buyers can choose from solid, gradient, or the new Orchids paint scheme.

My Scarab Darién
Scarab Cycles are known for their amazing and exuberant Paint schemes, and the new RTP bikes will be no exception. I am in the middle of reviewing a custom Darién hardtail that Scarab made just for me. I picked custom geometry so I could run a 140mm fork on it. The paint scheme I chose for the bike is called Fractal Fruit. It looks amazing, and the bike rides like a dream.
But, more on this later… stay tuned here for my full review soon.

New Paint Scheme: Orchids

Alongside the launch of the new stock sizes and the RTP Program, Scarab has also announced the release of a new paint scheme: Orchids. The Orchids paint scheme is a vibrant and colorful celebration of Colombia’s national flower and the country’s natural beauty.
The new RTP frames will be shipping to customers in just four weeks from the time of ordering. The Scarab Cycles dealer network will be able to watch availability live. This should make it easier for the local Scarab Cycles dealer to get more riders on a Colombian-crafted frameset.

Scarab Cycles is known for its impeccable craftsmanship and amazing paint schemes. That commitment to quality will carry through with their RTP offerings. Every bicycle will be constructed with the same size-specific Columbus tubing and a high level of attention to detail.
What’s The Price?
The RTP Program will offer Scarab’s most popular framesets at the starting price of $2,950 for frame and fork, with two seasonal paint upgrades available. Complete bicycles will also be offered with one build option for each model.
