Showers Pass Crosspoint windproof merino wool lined cycling gloves
Clockwise from top left: Softshell, Hardshell, Wind & Liner

Showers Pass has just come out with four different cycling gloves, three windproof outer gloves and one liner, all with some very nice technical features.

The Softshell and Hardshell gloves use fully waterproof Outdry material, which fuses the waterproof membrane with the outer layer, making a thinner glove that won’t trap moisture between layers, and they claim it breathes better. The Wind Glove uses an Artex liner that’s also wind- and waterproof, but not seam sealed like the top two models, but it does get a glasses wipe on the thumb. All three are shaped and articulated for cycling’s common hand placements and have reflective treatments. The liner is designed to work on its own or under the others and has touchscreen compatible fingertips, so you don’t have to completely freeze your digits typing someone else’s.

Thinking of spring and warmer weather? Don’t worry, these won’t ship until Fall, just in time for next winter’s cold rides. Click through for a spec list and pricing…

I was just wondering why we don’t see merino in gloves.

“OutDry” is what Mountain Hardware (Columbia Sportswear & Montrail family) uses for most of their waterproofing. I have a pair of the light weight waterproof Mountain Hardware gloves and they work as advertised. These can only be better!
