While the real news from Sage Titanium is the introduction of their first mountain bike, we’re starting with a gallery of the 13.2lb Skyline road bike build. There’s a parts list at the bottom with specifics, but the project achieves that low weight with extensive use of THM, Lightweight and SRAM parts. The price? Heh, heh, keep reading…

They could have shed another 100g or so by going without paint, but, I mean, c’mon. This thing looks amazing.

Slam that stem? Hell yeah, and that’ll save a few more grams.

Like the idea of a lightweight ti road bike but want to future proof it? Look for a disc brake version of the Skyline to debut next year. Want this one? Retail price would be $20,000 as shown.

Sage Titanium Flow Motion trail hardtail

For Sage’s first ever mountain bike, they brought production back to Portland, OR, where any custom models are also being made. All new models will be made there, too. Using the big mountains just to their east as inspiration, this new Flow Motion long travel hardtail is designed to run anything from a 120mm to 150mm fork.

That parts list would make any bike light, let us know what the frameset weighs.

The frame weighs 1496 grams and is made here in the US with custom paint being done in Colorado for this particular frame.

Named after (and tested on) the trail at Sandy Ridge, I presume.

You are correct.

Yup, what’s the frame weigh? Hey look, we can charge $20k for a bike with $16k in superlightweight parts!!! Is this as light as the old noodley Litespeed frames. Or just as light(or lighter) than a moderately stiff, triple-butted SEVEN?
There are NO details about the actual frame. This may as well be a Chinese Ti frame

Frame weight is 1495 grams and made here in the USA. No Chinese stuff here. The frame is plenty stiff and has a super solid ride. While the frame could be lighter, we wanted to make something that would stand up to whatever you could throw at it. The parts that are on the frame made it a fun project for us to build and show off as to what we are capable of doing for our clients.

Whats up with that Red derailleur position?

Customers come over and shift the bike when no one is looking. Guess we missed that for the pictures. Good catch…

This build makes no sense. It’s like the plan was to make a pretty light bike but not the lightest we can. Use some light stuff but not all of the light stuff. Did they run outa money for the build at 16k? Bars? Seat post? non segmented brake cables? Saddle? seat post clamp…Stem… The extralight stem is 10 g lighter and $350.00 cheaper…

So who’s welding Sage frames now?

These are made by Lynskey, aren’t they? Not ‘Portland made’?

In the video Dave says they brought the frame fabrication “in house” back to Portland, but didn’t specify what that means.

Should be chainstay mounted flat mount but…Even if you do seatstay mounted IS, you should make the hose come from top of the bike and via the seat stay. That jump from the chainstay to the seatstay is not ok with me.
