When you’re smooth, you’re fast, so Specialized is paying tribute to their four-time world champ DH racer Loic Bruni with a new kit… smooth as butter, Gravity Butter in fact!
The distinct dull yellow butter color aside, Specialized had three main priorities in designing this kit: ventilation, movement, and durability. You’ll notice plenty of laser perforated areas on the jerseys and pants, abrasion-resistant panels on the pants, and stretchy lycra fabrics to offer a close but non-restricting fit.
Specialized x Loic Bruni Gravity Butter
The Gravity Butter Collection includes a DH jersey & pants, a trail jersey & shorts, trail gloves, socks, a t-shirt, and a toque (a beanie hat). All pieces are either considered unisex, or offered in both men’s & women’s fits, so every rider has the option of getting buttered up!
Bruni will be debuting his new kit at the Fort William World Cup downhill race this weekend… will he shred the course like a hot knife through butter?

Specialized Gravity Butter Race Jersey – $100
The Gravity Butter Race Jersey is a long sleeved jersey, and it’s a unique model versus the Gravity Long Sleeve jerseys Specialized is about to release (new Gravity gear is launching May 24th!). This model features laser perforated vents on the front of each shoulder, and a comfortable crew neck collar. This lightweight race-day jersey keeps it minimal with no pockets.
The Gravity Butter Race jersey is considered a unisex piece, with sizes ranging from XS-XXL.
Specialized Gravity Butter Pants – $160
The Gravity Butter pants are identical in construction to Specialized’s incoming Gravity pants, so if you don’t dig the buttery color, other options will be available as of the next week – we might suggest black. The pants offer laser perforated ventilation on the front and back of the waistline, and on the back of your thighs. Down the tapered legs you’ll find high-abrasion knee patches, and a stretch panel at the cuff. The waist features an adjustable buckle closure.
The Gravity Butter pants are a unisex style, and waist sizes 24-42 are available.
Butter Trail Long Sleeve Jersey – $65
This lightweight, long-sleeved jersey provides full coverage in a minimal fashion, and a bit looser fit than the Race one. Its vented front sleeve design enhances airflow to your arms and armpits, and a soft crew neck collar keeps it simple and comfortable. This jersey also provides UPF 50 sun protection.
The Butter Trail Long Sleeve jersey is sold in men’s sizes XS-XXL, and women’s sizes XXS-XXL.
Butter Trail Air Shorts – $130
The Butter Trail Air shorts are a very lightweight pair, which include laser-perforated ventilation on the inside of the legs and along the back of the waistline – the same as the recently launched standard Trail Air Shorts, which run a bit snug in the seat.
With trail riding in mind, Specialized gave these shorts something no other garment in this lineup offers – a pocket! But just one. You get a single zippered pocket on the left leg, which looks ideal for carrying smartphones. The shorts also offer a buckle adjuster at the waist, and UPF 50 sun protection.
Men’s sizes range from 28-44, and women’s sizes XXS-XXL are available.
Butter Trail Air Gloves – $25
The Butter Trail Air gloves (and the socks below) allow you to complete your Loic Bruni pro replica kit in buttery style. Identical to Specialized’s existing Trail Air gloves, they offer non-padded micro-ventilated perforated palms for optimal grip feel without bunching. The pre-curved fingers use power knit mesh on the sides to ensure excellent breathability, and feature silicone grippers on the thumb and first two fingers. The forefingers and thumbs also include Wiretap conductive threads so you can fiddle with your phone.
The Butter Trail Air gloves are sold in men’s sizes S-XXL, and women’s sizes XS-XL.
Butter Techno MTB Tall Sock – $25
The Techno MTB Tall Sock provides lightweight underfoot cushioning to help absorb trail vibrations, and is designed to minimize hotspots and friction. The socks are available in unisex sizes S-XL.
Butter New Era Cuff Beanie – $25
To keep you as warm as melted butter when you’re off the bike, or waiting for you race to start, the Butter Beanie is a premium knit New Era cuff toque/beanie. One size fits all.
Butter Short Sleeve Tee – $35
Last up, Specialized made a screen printed soft cotton Butter t-shirt to round out the collection. Unisex sizes XXS-XXXL are available.
