Spinlister, the peer-to-peer bike sharing service that went live last October, has re-launched its service as a smart phone app.
The new app makes it quicker and easier to find and rent a bike from a fellow cyclist, whether in your home town or when traveling throughout the world. It also makes it easy to list and rent your own spare bikes to earn a few extra bucks.
Renters are required to put a face to their name by linking to their Facebook or Twitter accounts, as well as providing a valid credit card number. They are also supposed to return your bike in as good or better shape than it was in when they picked it up, and Spinlister guarantees against damage or theft up to $5000. Bike owners can set their own price and specify whether a helmet, lock, or other accessories are included in the rental. They should also be prepared to adjust saddle height and make any other minor tweaks necessary to ensure a smooth ride.
