Arizona’s State Bicycles has become known for offering great bikes at very reasonable prices, like their updated 4130 Allroad. Well, the new State 4130 Trail is no exception. The 4130 Trail is a perfectly capable hardtail that looks like it’s got great all-around geometry to shralp your local single track, or take on a bikepacking trip.

Let’s go over some of the 4130 Trail features…

Progressive Trail Geo
The 4130 Trail rocks a slack 65° head angle, and a low top tube paired with a long front-center.

A Universal Deraileur Hanger (UDH) makes the 4130 Trail virtually future-proof and ready for a modern drivetrain if that suits the user. Plus, it allows for easier component selection with broader options (and easier sourcing of replacement hangers).

Internal Dropper Routing
The 4130 Trail combines dropper post internal routing and a 31.6 seatpost diameter, making upgrading to a dropper a breeze.

Threaded Bottom Bracket (73mm BSA)
Reliable, creak-free, and easy-peasy to service. ‘Nuff said.

More Mounting Points
The 4130 Trail comes with triple bottle cage mounts on the down tube, because the bike is geared to being versatile and ready for any adventure.

Rock Shox Psylo Silver RC – 130mm travel, 35mm stanchions
At the 4130 Trail’s retail price, you’d expect to see a budget offering in the suspension fork category, but not in this case. The Rock Shox Psylo Silver RC rocks beefy 35mm stanchions, Motion Control damper and Solo Air spring.

SRAM DB4 Brake Upgrade
For only $150, you can upgrade the 4130 Trail’s brakes with the new SRM DB4. These are low-maintenance, mineral oil system that provides some serious stopping power.

Kinda odd that even the website doesn’t have an exact spec listing for the Eagle AXS option.

This looks like a super fun hardtail. My concern is not being able to run a long enough dropper post though due to the bosses on the seat tube. Did you have any feedback or experience anything with this?

Which would be better, the state 4130 Trail or the Mason Raw?
