Stem Captain analog clock bicycle steerer stem cap watch

Way back in 2011, we found Stem CAPtain’s beautiful analog clock, thermometer and compass stem caps. We checked back in recently and found they’ve added a few more options, including a bottle opener, GPS cycling computer mount and this enduro-ready clock, which gets an extra set screw to ensure it doesn’t fall out even on the roughest courses. Retail is $25, and it comes in colors…

The Enduro model come with the option of a black or silver bezel surrounding the watch face, and black, red, blue, green and silver mounts. The base is 6061-T6 machined alloy and weighs 28g with the clock installed. It’s weatherproof and uses a regular watch battery that’s easy to replace.

The Stem CAPtain bottle opener is a simple, $15 part machined from 7075-T6 aluminum (or opt for titanium) that comes in colors. Just remember to flip your bike up before opening your bevvie all over it.

For $25, get a machined alloy cap with Delrin insert designed to hold your 1/4 turn Garmin Edge cycling computer. If you prefer the out-front style computer mount and want to keep it charged on longer trips (or power anything else), they’re a reseller for Sinewave’s steerer-tube USB charger unit, too.

If you lean the bike over just a bit, you can open without spilling. StemCAPtain wouldn’t make a product that wastes precious BEER!

Did we run out of real problems to solve while I wasn’t looking?

A more functional solution would be an out-front Garmin mount, that has a bottle opener under it instead of a GoPro mount.

Put a self-winding watch in there, sell it as a 3fer with compass and thermometer. Dope.

They are frantically reducing the price to try and get rid of all the crap they sell that doesn’t work. And they don’t make things right when they should.

I bought a Compass 3.0 and it’s a POS. Doesn’t work on the bike soI just carried the ball, and it doesn’t work away from the bike either. Get a great pocket compass, it should be on you anyway.
