Hot on the heels of their last launch, Minnesota’s Teravail is back to roll out what they are calling DIRT. YOUR WAY. The new tires, rims, and wheels were designed in concert with each other to be mixed and matched. The new Fluent Carbon MTB rim and wheels were made to optimize the new Camrock, Drawpoint, and Clifty MTB tires to feel the most connected to the trail.

Let’s get into the details of the tires first…

Drawpoint

Retail: $80 (both casings and either tan or black sidewalls)

The new Teravail Drawpoint is designed for straight-line speed and confident control on progressive terrain. The fast-rolling center lugs and elevated shoulder lugs will offer playful, predictable handling and allow the rider to get creative.

Drawpoint Features

  • Tubeless-ready casing
  • Sizes: 29 x 2.4
  • Grip compound provides high traction for a stable, predictable ride
  • Light Trail casing features a 1.5-ply, 120 TPI casing that conforms to the trail and saves weight, plus bead-to-bead puncture protection
    Weight: 825g
  • Durable casing features a 1.5-ply, 60 TPI casing to protect against trail abrasion and sharp rocks
    Weight: 910g

Camrock

Retail: $80 (both casings and either tan or black sidewalls)

This new tire was designed to deliver straight-line speed and smoothness on XC terrain. It rocks a low profile with an evenly spaced, linear tread pattern. It also has sharp lug edges and siping to carry speed and conform to the terrain.

Camrock Features

  • Tubeless-ready casing
  • Sizes: 29 x 2.4
  • Fast compound provides low resistance for a fast-rolling tire
  • Light Trail casing features a 1.5-ply, 120 TPI casing that conforms to the trail and saves weight, plus bead-to-bead puncture protection.
    Weight: 710g
  • Durable casing features a 1.5-ply, 60 TPI casing to protect against trail abrasion and sharp rocks
    Weight: 795g

Clifty

Retail: $80 (60 TPI casing in either tan or black sidewalls)
Retail: $85 (120 TPI casing in either tan or black sidewalls)

This rough-and-tumble tire delivers balanced performance in all-mountain riding in unpredictable terrain. Looking a little bit like a less aggressive version of my favorite all-mountain tire, the Kessel, the Clufty uses uniform lug sizing and spacing to maximize trail contact. The interlocking shoulder and transition lugs produce predictable traction.

Clifty Features

  • Tubeless-ready casing
  • Sizes: 29 x 2.5
  • Available in Teravail’s Grip or Grip Plus rubber compound
  • Durable casing features a 1.5-ply, 60 TPI casing to protect against trail abrasion and sharp rocks
    Weight: 1020g
  • Durable Plus casing features a two-ply, 120 TPI casing that defends against punctures and cuts, and an apex wedge for more impact protection
    Weight: 1220g

Now let’s get into the new Fluent rim and Fluent Wheelsets.

Front Wheel Retail: $599 (29″ front wheel, 6-bolt, 28h drilling)

Hi John, Max, Teravail engineer here. The Fluent rims 30mm internal width is optimized for 2.4″ to 2.6″ tires which are center of market for pretty much all MTB applications. It’s compatible with 42mm all the way up to 3.0″ tires though if you are looking for a setup on either end of the spectrum. If this doesn’t suit your needs, or if you like the feel of extra wide MTN rims (thinking i35) or if you are exclusively running plus tires, there are lots of great options out there. I hope you find something that gets you stoked to ride your bike 🙂

Too bad there aren’t any 27.5” tire option – loved the ehlines, but out of luck with these.
