For 2024, Mondraker is honing its eBike craft: hot on the heels of the all-new lightweight NEAT eMTB is the reinstated Crusher. Like the 2018 incarnation, the Crusher runs 150mm rear wheel travel supported by Mondraker’s ZERO suspension platform. Only, in 2024, it rocks up on a complete 29″ wheelset.

Don’t Mondraker already have a 150mm travel enduro eMTB with 29″ wheels? Isn’t that the Crafty?

Yes, and yes. The 2024 Crusher runs the very same geometry and kinematic as the Bosch-powered Crafty. However, in place of the Bosch Performance Line CX motor is the latest EP801 motor from Shimano. Aside from their engine rooms, there really is very little that sets them apart.

Geometrically, the Mondraker Crusher is very similar to the Mondraker Crafty. Available in sizes S-XL, all have generous 455mm chainstays, and a 25mm BB drop, with reasonably short seat tubes across the board (450mm in L). The most notable difference in geometry is the slightly slacker head angle of 65° – this is 65.5° on the Bosch-powered Crafty.

As such, the Crusher has the slightly longer wheelbase, too; 1285mm on the Large. All have an effective seat tube angle of 76°.

The Shimano EP801 Drive Unit powering the Crusher has a maximum torque of 85 Nm and weighs a claimed 2.7 kg. Meanwhile. the Bosch Performance Line CX motor found on the Mondraker Crafty has the same maximum torque output, but is a little heavier at a claimed 2.9 kg. It is the Crafty that has the bigger battery, however, at 750 Wh versus the Crusher’s 720 Wh battery.

Topping the range is the Crusher RR, yours for just $11,399 USD.
