From Velocio: Between EWS stops and local trail advocacy, Vermont resident Adam Morse still finds time to dream up adventures in his backyard. His latest idea? Riding 100 miles from his doorstep through the rough, rocky, rooty trails of Vermont, with constant ups and downs, minimal flow, and boiled potatoes for lunch. This is Adam’s Power of 100.
“I started to realize that if I link together this network and that network, and a few others, like, I mean, shoot, this thing might be close to 100 miles,” Morse says. “If there was ever a time to do a century ride, predominantly on mountain bike trails, it just feels like something really special.”
It’s a beautiful, fun, feel-good mini feature showcasing some of the best singletrack VT has to offer.
“There’s a lot of hard miles,” he says. “There’s old farmland that goes through grassy fields that roll super slow. There’s some pretty technical, rooty, rocky, steep, chunky terrain, that, every crank is a hard-earned crank.”
