This new 8Bar Krzberg v8 has been one of the Berlin bike brand’s original affordable, customizable fixies. And now it gets an 8th-generation refresh with bigger tire clearance, lighter weight, and increased stiffness… as well as a few creature comfort updates, too. Build it up as a flat bar singlespeed with a freewheel for everyday city commuter use, or slap on a dropbar and a fixed cog for urban crit racing.
8Bar Krzberg v8 affordable, versatile singlespeed fixie

The Krzberg has been around since 2011 as a simple singlespeed road/track frameset, ready to be built up however you like. Originating with the urban fixie culture that formed the backbone of 8bar Bikes’ early years, it is still a popular option. Combine the simple Krzberg frame with 8bar’s online bike builder customization tool, and it’s still a great option for city dwellers looking to build up a personalized but still affordable bike to get around town.

What’s new?

Now in its 8th iteration, the 8Bar Krzberg v8 gets a lot of tubing reshaping, including an oversized aero downtube and new flattened toptube profile that boosts lateral stiffness while increasing rider comfort and slightly improving overall aerodynamics. The frame also returns to a more conventional, slightly sloping toptube design that sheds a few grams and, together with new hydroformed tube shaping, increases frame stiffness.

It also gets a next iteration of 8bar logo track end dropouts with double-sided replaceable stainless steel faces.

Then, in a continued evolution for mixed surface versatility, or even just more comfort on potholed city streets, the 8Bar Krzberg 8 gets upgraded to wide 32mm tire clearance. Plus, it finally adds a set of water bottle cage mounts to the seattube, because not every ride is a 45-minute fixed gear crit!
