TrainerRoad, a subscription-based virtual training software that syncs up with both smart and standard trainers alike to provide detailed workout programs, has updated both their desktop and iOS apps to fix a few bugs. More importantly, they’ve added support for the lower cost Wahoo KICKR Snap, a more affordable version of that company’s connected, Bluetooth/ANT+ controlled trainer.
The update allows all of TrainerRoad’s workouts to control the Snap, including the power calibration spin down and providing automatic changes to resistance to keep you working in the target power output range. We reviewed TrainerRoad’s system last year and found it to be a supremely effective way to maximize trainer time whether paired with the KICKR or using virtual power on the Kurt Kinetic Road Machine.
The company told us they’re working on a major revamp for the desktop version that should be out (or at least announced) around mid September.
