Made to fit Shimano direct-mount cranksets, the new Tumbleweed Wagon Wheel Chainring fills the specific need for replaceable chainrings for Shimano Hollowtech 2 cranks. The new 32t, +3mm offset chainring is available in silver (stainless steel), and black (aluminum).

Just like all of their products, the Wagon Wheel Chainring is specifically designed around the “ecosystem of their builds”. They decided to make some extras for the folks that might find them useful.

There are no plans to make chainrings for other crank standards. Although they did say they may, at some point, offer a few different teeth or offset options. The new chainring is compatible with all chains, except for 12-speed Shimano HG+ chains.

There is currently only one option for tooth count, 32t, and one offset option, +3mm. This offset gives you the same offset as standard Shimano rings. And will give you the same chain line as stock. The two options for material are aluminum (black) which weighs in at 60g. And 304 stainless steel (silver) which weighs in at 150g.

The benefit, or trade-off for the stainless chainring’s weight is an exponentially longer life. Tumbleweed says they have a “sponsored rider that has nearly 5000 miles of loaded touring on a stainless chainring”, which still looks new.

Funny, a Shimano only Chainring that isn’t compatible with Shimano HG+ chains.

Shimano crank mount only. You could absolutely run other non-12sp chains on it from SRAM etc

“Hollowtech II compatible” (as stated in the top of the article) is not very accurate since that has been around since 2005 with the Ultegra 6600-series and I don’t think these chainrings are compatible with that.

A while back I was looking for a T-type chainring that would mount onto a Shimano crank with no luck.
I thought I would find it here.
I wonder why no one that I’ve seen makes this?
