Following the success of the original Argo Cargo Kit, the new and improved 2.0 is sure to be better. It is said to be easier to build, and have a more nimble ride, making it quicker and more fun. Not to mention, Argo beefed up the frame with gussets and “fins”, making it stronger without sacrificing comfort.

Will it Fit My Bike?

The Argo Cargo Kit 2.0 is said to fit “10s of millions of bikes”. But to make sure your bike will work, they have a compatibility page on their website to help you figure it out. The 2.0 Kit fits both 68 and 73-mm bottom brackets.

And, for an extra $25, it can be made to fit 83 and 100mm threaded systems, with the Wide BBLink Adaptor. The Cargo Kit 2.0 comes to you 90% assembled, so there is no real downtime before you can start haulin’ stuff around, and #ridebikesbringstuff.

That looks amazing, little note to Argo, some of use are good carpenters, make a bundle without the marine ply box so we can customize.

This is a great idea, John. Also, if you have ideas for different box styles, reach out.

Again, not everyone is gonna drive two kids. I have four kids and they are all superstar cyclist so a basic flat box or floor is welcomed, I would need to thrown out the included seat. The only dude to go in my cargo will be my dog…

If I had the space in my garage for that, I would sell my Yuba in a heartbeat to use on a frame I feel comfortable on. This looks sweet.

It’s compatible… It just would not be easy to navigate tight corners and emergency maneuvers with that length. If your commute is straight and you need a stretch limo, go for it.

This is so rad! I lamented the disappearance of the Xtracycle Freeradical. This might be even better.

The Freeradical long-tail design did keep the bike a lot more compact while still adding a massive amount of cargo space to a standard bike. I have a Surly Big Dummy, based on the same design and accessories, and I love it for being one of the most compact cargo bikes out there (when the bags are empty and the wide loader extensions are not installed).

I also own a Freeradical. The design and function is incredible. And Ross has been a bit of a hero for me. I think I remember an incredible sticker they sent with the Freeradical that said “Kill Your TV”.

This is brilliant. We all have access to old frames we could convert and probably a garage full of parts to kit it out. Paired with a nice CYC mid motor kit and you have a cheap Riesse and Muller Packster that costs 8-10k.

They aren’t super compatible with mid drive due to the way the bottom bracket is used for the stability bar, but rear drive hubs work

Will this work with the Annioki aq177?

Thanks for your interest Anthony, unfortunately due to the lack of lockout on the fork and the wide bottom bracket, the Aniioki Aq177 is incompatible. If you’d like a similarly equipped ebike that is compatible, I’d suggest giving the GaPed Anu5 a quick Google.

I hope this comes to fruition. It seems like a great way to get an unused/neglected bike back into service. I already have a cargo bike, but I’ll be suggesting this to friends.

And it’s always cool when someone from the company jumps in the chat to answer questions.

This looks awesome. I wonder how quickly it can be installed/removed? If it’s convenient enough, I could see swapping between this and a regular front wheel depending on my needs that day.

A couple of minutes if all you need. There is a QR near the rear mount and at the fork. Other than those 2 items you just have to disconnect & reconnect your brake. It’s quite easy.

We had met with Scott at Taipei years ago and still a good option for old bikes to convert to utility / carrier bikes. Scott, John Smith pulls a good attention of the platform idea; sell the kit as basic platform also. European side of the things, we are publishing new strict standards for carrier cycles.
