I’m laughing on the outside and crying on the inside.
I’ll hand it to him, though, the battery business end of the bike is solid, just wonder what the runtime is for this bad boy.  Not to diminish the technical coolness, there are a few things I can’t help mention:  It appears Grist.org with comments from the maker, who compares it’s looks to the $7,000 Optibike and makes such statements as:
- This bike only cost $1,600 and I suspect it will outperform the expensive one in every way imaginable.
- I chose a full-suspension mountain bike frame because … I jump off curbs a lot.
- I have to be careful or my front wheel lifts off the ground.

There’s no info on range, speed or whether it’s a regenerative energy-producing dynamo to recharge the batteries while he’s riding, but there’s nothing like a little DIY tinkering to make me smile.  The guy behind this also writes a blog called Biodiversivist.
