FSA has launched an entirely new ‘Team Issue’ component line, made up of a carbon fiber-wrapped seatpost, stem, handlebar and two carbon cranksets.  The new mid-tier line falls just under its K-Force and SL-K parts and is meant to be economical while providing loads of performance based on their experience testing and building higher end parts.

For the cranks, a standard and compact version will be available, and both use FSA’s monocoque carbon composite arms with a new UD (unidirectional) carbon finish (previous models had a 3K weave finish).  Their chainrings are updated to work with all new Shimano 10-speed, meaning their directional chains, with new ramp and pin designs.  Where the economy comes in is in their fabrication; you’re getting stamped AL7075/T6 chainrings rather than machined rings like on their higher end cranks, and no BB30 option.  Crank weight is 730g for standard, about 100g heavier than their K-Force Light model. Other specs:

  • 24mm integrated chromoly spindle
  • 170, 172.5 and 175 crankarm length options
  • 145mm Q-factor
  • 130 BCD
  • 43.5mm chainline

The Team Issue Compact UD Handlebar is based on their Wing Pro Compact, but gets a UD carbon wrap and the updated Team Issue graphics.  Underneath the fibers is a butted AL7050 alloy bar. On the outside, it gets textured grip areas for better lever and stem grip.  It comes with OS 31.8 clamp area in 380mm, 400mm, 420mm and 440mm widths.  The curved handles have a 125mm drop and 80mm reach with a 4º outward bend.  285g (400mm), MSRP $169.
