The new Vittoria Corsa PRO Speed 700x30c (30-622) adds a wider size to their “fastest road bike tire”. And yes, it’s because their World Tour teams were asking for it.

As such, it’s a high-performance tire designed for racing, and Vittoria’s sponsored riders are already riding it, and you can, too, starting today. Available February 17th, MSRP is $125.99 per tire. Which is a lot, but it’s a pretty special tire…

The Corsa PRO Speed comes only in a tubeless-ready construction with an ultra-supple Corespun 320 TPI cotton casing. The tread seamlessly tapers into the sidewall for a smoother, more aero appearance, and it’s all electrically cured to minimize rolling resistance.

There’s a bead shield to protect against pitch flats, but there’s no puncture protection layer under the tread. If you don’t need the protection, this is one of the best road tires we’ve ever ridden, and now it’s wider.

The tread is a Graphene + Silica compound, which is simultaneously fast yet grippy, even in the wet. Small grooves on the sides provide cornering edges, but the center is perfectly smooth.

The Vittoria Corsa PRO Speed now comes in 24, 26, 28, and 30mm wide options. The weights are:

  • 24mm – 220g
  • 26mm – 235g
  • 28mm 250g
  • 30mm – 270g

There’s also a unique 29WR model (255g), which is a 29mm “wide rim” version designed to provide a perfectly flat (more aero) sidewall profile on extra-wide rims like those from Reserve. The rest of them are built like normal tires, so they’ll be shaped like normal tires on normal rims.

The price for the average racer is still too much 250+ for a set up that might last 500 miles.
