Wilde Bikes debuted two new frames at MADE this weekend in Portland, OR. Since 2020, Wilde has built some of the most uniquely handcrafted bikes, whether their intended use is for on- or off-road. And their newest releases, the Earth Seed and Dog Star, are no exception.
Neither is the Dream Engine, Wilde’s flagship bikepacking bike, which is also on display. Built in partnership with Portland artist Brett Stenson, this bike demonstrates the lengths the brand will go to deliver a truly custom build.
Wilde Bikes Earth Seed

Wilde calls their new Earth Seed a pure gravel race machine that just happens to be a mixte. The Earth Seed boasts an aggressive and fast nature, yet it’s comfortable for big pedal days.
The Earth Seed takes its inspiration from Wilde’s famed gravel race bike, Earth Ship. While the bike shares the lightweight steel tubing, fillet brazing, and Paragon Machine Works parts that make a Wilde, it also flaunts a unique mixte styling that separates it from other bikes in the lineup. Twin lateral top tubs drop extra low, providing more standover height and rear triple stays.

Each bike is handcrafted in Wilde’s Minneapolis workshop and features a tapered steerer Waypoint fork, and internal rear brake hose routing. The Earth Seed is also designed with wireless shifting in mind, as there is no routing for derailleur cable housing.
Like all their bikes, the Earth Seed is handmade. Frame sizes stretch from XX-Small to XX-Large, with frame and fork options starting at $3500. Build options are available; contact Wilde for more information.

Wilde Bikes Dog Star

26-inch isn’t dead. Wilde’s nod back to the klunker era, where mountain biking found its feet, is evident with their newest mountain bike, the Dog Star. The bike incorporates classic styling with a mix of contemporary design and modern features.
The fillet brazed, bi-laminate construction of the Dog Star gives the bike a unique take on a vintage all-terrain style of bike. The Dog Star does a little bit of everything, from charging hard down old fire roads and trails to town cruises to pick up a case of beer. It is an everyday bike that can also take on bikepacking adventures and singletrack exploration.

As is the case with all bikes at Wilde, the Dog Star is handmade in Minneapolis. With a double top tube design and a quill bullmoose handlebar, the Dog Star has riders thinking of simpler days. Yet, the vintage appeal accompanied by modern luxuries, like XTR M900 drivetrains, provides a riding experience that blurs the decades together.

Dog Star frame and fork options start at $3900, which includes a custom paint job. You’ll have to supply your own vintage XTR group. For complete build options, contact Wilde.
Brett Stenson’s Wilde Dream Engine

If it’s bikepacking you’re interested in, look no further than Wilde Bikes’ Dream Engine. Released in 2021, the bike quickly became Wilde’s flagship bike for multiday two-wheeled adventures. Being built in Minneapolis, Wilde had the Tour Divide in mind when they first designed and built the Dream Engine.
And, on display at MADE this year is Portland artist Brett Stenson’s custom Dream Engine.

A longtime collaborator with Wilde, Stenson looked to the brand when it was time to build a new rig for bikepacking. Over time, and with some paint color inspiration from a 1967 Ford Bronco, Stenson worked with Wilde to create the bike of his dreams. Fortunately, he stuck around this weekend, loaning his baby to Wilde for display at MADE.
The Dream Engine fork and frame custom platform starts at $3300.
