It was close to this time last year when the WTB Vulpine reappeared as a new gravel race tire. It was certainly fast, but the single 700c x 36mm sizing limited its use. Now, WTB is back with another casing width for the Vulpine – and it looks to be just as fast.
Make no mistake, the Vulpine is about speed with minimal rolling resistance without sacrificing on grip. The new 700c x 40mm casing should bump up the compliance while keep thing things quick.
Offered in three additional configurations, the 40mm Vulpine will come in black or tan wall, and in TCS Light/Fast casing for $65.95 each. There’s also an SG2 version for those who want additional bead-to-bead puncture protection for $76.95. All three are tubeless compatible, feature Dual DNA rubber compounds. and claimed weights from 425-454g. Available now starting on WTB.com.
