There’s a lot of news from Zwift to catch up with on these past few weeks. We’re talking about Zwift Classic a new esports race series, open enrollment of the 2019 Zwift Academy, and the recent edition of Time Trial mode.

Going pro with Zwift Academy

Looking to get fit and possibly go pro? Enrollment is now open for the 2019 Zwift Academy. Riders of all levels can join the expected 100k participants to enjoy a two-month training plan. Each participant will also gain free access to the Today’s Plan training tool. At the end of the program, the top riders from the men’s and women’s groups will be offered a position on the Team Dimension Data (men’s) or Canyon // SRAM Racing teams. Best of all, Zwift is donating 1 Qhubeka bike to South African communities per 10 men to graduate. Enrollment and details can be found behind the link, here.

More e-sports are coming with Zwift Classics

Zwift Classic Series

After the success of their KISS Super League, Zwift has launched another e-sports race series, the Zwift Classics. Each race is a one-day event and an all-out sprint to the finish between different levels of riders. Professional and amateur riders are invited to participate in front of the ever-growing e-sports audience. The series kicked off on July 3rd, but don’t worry, there are still races left to join in on. More details about the Zwift Classic can be found on their website, here.

Upcoming Zwift Classic races include:

  • 7 August, Richmond Challenge, Women’s Race, 7pm BST
  • 14 August, Trofeo Bologna, Men’s Race, 7pm BST
  • 4 September, Rund um Innsbruck, Women’s Race, 7pm BST
  • 5 September, Watopia Cup, Men‘s Race, 7pm BST

TT mode is live!

Zwift Time Trial Mode

The new event-only time trial mode can be signed up for through the Companion App. Participants are assigned start times to streamline the start process. There are a few new powerups too, including the Burrito and Invisibility. The Burrito prevents others from drafting off you and Invisibility makes you invisible to make moves or play mind games on other riders. TT mode is now available, check the events list to participate in one!
