srm power meter makes wireless model for shimano dura-ace di2 compact cranksets

SRM just announced their latest wireless power meter to work with Shimano’s Dura-Ace 7950 compact cranksets, including Di2 electronic shifting setups. They contain eight strain gauges and are accurate to +/-2%, transmit via Ant+ Sport to work with any compatible cycling computer (SRM, Garmin, etc.) and download their data to SRM Win Software for analysis. The official model name if you’re bargain hunting is SRM PowerMeter Dura-Ace 7950 Compatible – Compact, and MSRP is $4,095 for the complete wireless system or $3,145 for the power meter only. The system is built up with Dura-Ace 7800 Hollowtech II crankarms in lengths from 165 to 180mm. Full press release after the break…

PRESS RELEASE: SRM announces the SRM Training System is now available in a compact design for Dura-Ace 7950. The new addition was created based on the need for an SRM PowerMeter utilizing the extremely lightweight and stiff Shimano Dura-Ace 7950 chainrings. The PowerMeter is compatible with manual shifting as well as Shimano’s Di2 electronic shifting system.

The SRM PowerMeter Dura-Ace 7950 Compatible – Compact features Shimano’s DA 7800 Hollowtech II crank arms in lengths ranging from 165 to 180mm. The PowerMeter bolt-circle diameter is 110/110 designed for Shimano’s 50/34 Dura-Ace chainrings.

There is a new exterior design unique to this compact PowerMeter. The traditional outer SRM crank decal has been replaced by a sleek black lid with the SRM Wireless logo etched for a clean design to seamlessly integrate the PowerMeter and the Dura-Ace chainrings.

Due to the superior design, durability, and accuracy of this SRM PowerMeter, it has been chosen by the world’s top Pro Tour Cycling Teams. Team HTC Highroad, Team Leopard and Team Sky will rely on the SRM PowerMeter Dura-Ace 7950 Compatible in training and competition.

The complete SRM Training System purchase includes the PowerControl 7 (PC7) and all wireless accessories (heart rate monitor, speed sensor, multi-charger, download cable, handlebar mount, cadence magnet, and SRM software). The PowerMeter Only option allows customers to purchase the SRM PowerMeter separately to be used with ANT or ANT+Sport™ compatible devices, or for a second bike with a shared wireless PowerControl.

Power and cadence data is transmitted via ANT+Sport™ protocol from the PowerMeter to the PC7. Power, cadence, heart rate, speed, distance, altitude, time, temperature and energy expenditure are displayed in real time on the high contrast display. The PC7 can store 131 hours of ride data (set at 1 second storage interval) and can be downloaded via USB cable. The PowerMeter has 1,400 hours of battery life and provides automatic transmission of PowerMeter slope and zero offset data wirelessly to the PC7 to ensure the highest level of accuracy.
