Usually I write about the limited edition art prints from 100Copies just because they simply look cool, offering cyclists like myself a bike-centric way to decorate our homes. But this time it’s an advocacy issue. At the end of September an earthquake & tsunami devastated Sulawesi, Indonesia, not far from 100Copies’ Singapore home…

So artist Thomas Yang created this simple red & white print, interpreting the Indonesian flag in a scene of rising & riding above the devastation. And a symbol the power of the bicycle as a tool to propel movement forward after such tragedy.

100% of all proceeds from this special 42nd 100Copies print are being donated to the Red Cross Sulawesi Earthquake, public fundraising appeal. The money raised is being managed directly by the Singapore Red Cross to purchase relief items for displaced survivors, and for longer-term recovery & rebuilding efforts. Full details of the program services are available from the Red Cross.

Like the rest of the 100Copies series, the offset lithograph prints are limited to a run of only 100 (with just over half remaining, right now.) The archival quality prints are 84 x 54cm (~33 x 21″) printed with Pantone 186U red – the official color of Indonesia’s flag, hand numbered on 230g Maple Snow paper, and sell for $80, plus shipping. All proceeds go to support the Red Cross humanitarian aid being delivered to the affected communities in Indonesia.
