We’ve got our hands on some pics and specs for the 2009 Storck road and mountain bike lineup they’ll be introducing at Interbike, like the 790g Fascenario 0.7 frame shown above ($6,250 frame/fork).  That’s right…790g.  Or, you can get the Fascenario 0.7 IS, a kit including frame, crankset/BB, headset and fork that together weighs only 1,550g ($9,500 kit).
Never heard of Storck?  Well, after reading this, you’ll be looking for your nearest dealer to go check them out.  Read “more” for add’l pics and specs.
Based in Bad Camberg, Germany (with a new HQ being built in Idstein), Storck was founded by Markus Storck.  Markus started out as the German distributor for Klein before launching his own innovative line of bikes and components.  Despite the lightweight, Storck Bicycles are engineered to ride as well as 75,000 miles as they do new according to company PR.
So, technically, the Fascenario is not a new model for ’09, but at 790g, we couldn’t help intro-ing this story with it.  New for 2009 are the Fenomalist and Absolutist 1.0 road bikes and the Rebelion 1.3 mountain bike (click on the pics to enlarge).
2009 Storck Fenomalist – $3,800 (frame/fork)
The Fenomalist is a combonation of the Fascenario and the Absolutist, built to offer some of the performance of the Fascenario but priced a little lower.  The Fenomalist is billed as a “high performance, incredibly stiff race frame” built with unidirectional, high modular fiber.  Featuring carbon rear dropouts with a replaceable hanger, specs include 1-1/8″ headtube, 31.6mm seatpost and sloping top tube.  Frame weight: 900g.
2009 Storck Absolutist 1.0 – $2,500 (frame/fork)
Billed as a “modern racing frame with oversized proportional tubing” with a “smooth ride and precise performance”.  Frame is made of unidirectional carbon fiber and weighs in at 1050g and features a tapered headtube (1-1/4″ to 1-1/8″) with integrated headset designed to work with their Stilleto Aero fork.  It also has the carbon rear dropouts with replaceable hanger.  The Absolutist 1.0 is introduced in ’09 to offer a more affordable and only slightly heavier version of the Absolutist 0.9 (950g), helping bring Storck into the homes of more enthusiast riders.
2009 Storck Rebelion 1.3 – $2,650 (frame)
Like the road lines, the 1.3 is positioned to be a more affordable version of their Rebelion 1.0 (1070g, $3,075) and 1.1 (1170g, $3,800).  It has a short-ish chainstay at 16.5″, which helps keep your weight over the rear wheel for climbing and snappy handling in the tight ‘n’ twisties.  Weighing in at 1250g, the Rebelion 1.3 has carbon dropouts, integrated 1-1/8″ headset and is constructed of Unidirectional carbon fiber.
